How to give an agency access to Shopify

Two situations, one page. If you don't have your Shopify account yet, create it first and it stays yours. If you already have it, jump straight to inviting your agency. Pick your situation below.

You keep ownership. We come in as “collaborators”, which is Shopify's access for outside partners. It doesn't use up a staff seat, doesn't cost you anything, and you approve exactly which areas we can touch.

Starting a Shopify store is optional and it's something the store owner sets up. If you don't have a store yet, you can begin a trial with your business email at your own pace. The steps below cover giving access to a store that already exists.

  1. Start a Shopify account

    ↗ shopify.com
Click the link, then use your business email to sign up. On the plan screen pick any plan, you can change it later. Shopify's signup changes often, so follow its on-screen prompts; there's nothing you can get wrong here.
  2. Set up the store at your own pace

Store structure, theme, apps and payments are all handled by the store owner inside Shopify. Work through them whenever you're ready, and tell us once the account exists so we can help with the marketing side.
